San Francisco Accused of Discharging Sewage and Trash 

San Francisco Baykeeper, a local environmental watchdog group, has announced plans to sue the city over allegations that the city's Public Utilities Commission is regularly violating federal law by discharging millions of gallons of combined stormwater runoff and sewage into regional bodies of water. The group has sent a letter to Mayor London Breed, City Attorney David Chiu, and administrators with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, informing them that the nonprofit intends to file a lawsuit over what it says are violations of the Clean Water Act.
